Wow! You can now go to Tarutao National Park in Thailand directly from Langkawi. Not by swimming of course, but by a new ferry service available in Langkawi.
Previously, you can only go to Tarutao by small boats from Satun island which is available for six months each year,
(November to May only) due to heavy seas during other months from the Thai port of Satun.

With this new ferry service, you can go to Tarutao within one hour all year round!
You'd get a year-round access to Ko Lipe, Ko Adang, Ko Tarutao and 50 more islands within Thailand's Trautao National Park. This simply means, lots and lots of beautiful and colorful corals, white sandy beaches and dozens of world class scuba diving sites.
There are more dolphins, whale sharks, whales and turtles for your eyes to see, in addition to the million year old rainforest, spectacular ancient mountains, and stunning wildlife including hornbills, monitor lizards, monkeys and rare species that you'd normally see in Langkawi.
Tarutao National Park in Thailand is blessed with azure seas, white sandy beaches and world class scuba diving and snorkelling spots.
The new ferry service has started its operation on 8 June 2005 and is made possible through the cooperation of the Thai and Malaysian governments and the opening of a Thai Consulate in Langkawi in June 2005.
Ferry services from Langkawi to Tarutao National Park will operate three days a week and more frequently during peak season. The daytrips include the one-hour ferry trip, island hopping by speedboat, snorkel gear and a buffet lunch with refreshments.
You can also choose the special trips which include scuba diving trips with 2 dives, game fishing trips (catch & return), and a guided ecotour to explore the island’s corals and forests with a trained naturalist.
How to go there? Easy. Go to Telaga Harbour Park on northern Langkawi and takes the ferry which will reach Ko Adang in an hour. From there, you'll taken by speedboat to different islands for scuba diving, snorkeling, game fishing and ecotourism tours.
