I woke up that Friday morning, feeling so refreshed!
The room package at Langkasuka Beach Resort was inclusive of Asean-styled buffet breakfast at Sunset Restaurant. After, a nice meal of Nasi Lemak, Fried Noodles and Rice Porridge, we started our journey to Kuah town.
These were the Langkawi attractions that we managed to visit on our third day in Langkawi.
Nusantara Gamat Factory
From Langkasuka Beach Resort, we took the right turn then headed left to the airport. We passed by the Helang Hotel and reached a roundabout. We took the road lead to Kuah via a newly constructed highway. Kuah town was just 15 minutes drive from the airport.
On the way to Kuah, we noticed a giant-sized bottle of Gamat, the traditional medicine from the sea on the
right side of the highway. We made a u-turn and stopped at the large Gamat factory and shop.
The shop is known as Nusantara -- there were a lot of different kind of gamat products on sale!
After buying some gamat stuff, we made another u-turn and headed to Kuah town. We stopped in the middle of the town, near the Maybank. I needed to withdraw some money but the guards were changing the deposit box. It would take at least half an hour for them to finish, so we walked to the nearby duty free shops.
Langkawii Crystaal & Lagenda Park
Zaly drove towards the jetty but I saw the Langkawii Crystaal signboard and asked him to stop.
The moment I stepped inside the crystal showroom, I was amazed with different colors of crystals.
The crystals were beautiful, delicate and cost a bomb! A simple bowl cost RM280 while the more
intricately designed can reach thousand of ringgits!
After buying a crystal bowl at Langkawii Crystaal, we looked for a parking spot near the Jetty Point Shopping Centre. But, the parking lots were full! We proceeded to the next parking lot near the Eagle Square but it was also fulled. So..without any choice we parked our car at the parking lot on the right side of the Lagenda Park.
I saw many cars with windshield wipers up. These cars were cars for rental!! And they were taking parking spaces at the tourist hot spot. I was feeling rather irritated because I need to walk quite far from the car park to the Eagle Square! And, I didn't have that much stamina left after climbing the stairs to Telaga Tujuh! Ha..ha..ha.. Moral of the story -- work out and build your stamina before visiting Langkawi!
We walked passed the Lagenda Park and took some pictures. We went inside but only to take photos
of the beautiful scenery. I didn't have the energy to walk or cycle through the 20 hectares (50 acres) park!
And, while Zaly laughed at me, I just smiled. I had already laughed at him when he refused to walk along the
skybridge!! So...it was equal, right?
Eagle Square, Wildlife Park & Galeria Perdana
Finally, we reached the Eagle Square. The sun was scorching hot and I was feeling very thirsty.
The scenery from the Eagle Square was very beautiful. But, I need a cold drink, so we headed
towards the Jetty Point Shopping Centre.
After having a can of iced milo, we went inside the Jetty Point Shopping Centre. We were greeted with cold aircond! What a relief from the hot sun outside.
After that, we headed North along Jalan Kisap. We stopped at the Langkawi Wildlife Park to
see some birds and bees. Hmm...no bees but monkeys and other wild animals. This is a mini-zoo, so
you can't expect to find lions and tigers here, don't you?
After taking pictures of the birds, we went to the Galeria Perdana. And, it started to rain! Once inside,
I was amazed with a vast collection of Dr Mahathir's (the former Prime Minister of Malaysia) gifts from all
over the world! From paintings, jade, dolls, weapons, clothing to the former Prime Minister's degrees and
awards were on displayed.
Tanjung Rhu Beach & Crocodile Farm
We headed further north, and took the turn to Tanjung Rhu beach. We stopped by the beach, and had some soup
noodles and asam laksa. From Tanjung Rhu beach, I could see the cement factory in the distance.
After Tanjung Rhu beach, we stopped at the Black Sand beach where the sand was shiningly black!
Especially the sand near the walkway.
The Crocodile Farm was our second final destination in Langkawi. Unfortunately, we arrived not at the
right time for the crocodile showtimes and the crocodile feeding time.
We was dismayed to find that the Summer Palace at Pantai Kok is closed for visitors.
Langkasuka Beach Resort
At about 5pm, we went back to our hotel, the Langkasuka Beach Resort. And, we were so mad that the housekeeping was not done. Before leaving in the morning, we already hung the "Please Make My Room" signage on our door knob. But, the didn't do it!
I was so tired and needed to have my hot bath, but the houskeeping didn't refill the toileteries and didn't replace the wet towel.
I was so extremely mad (that must be cause by the surge in hormone after taking Clomid a week ago), because after calling them,
the housekeeping still didn't come after 1 1/2 hour!
I dashed downstairs to vent my anger to the receptionist (huh..what was happening to me?). After that, I went to beach and laid on
the deck chair -- feeling calmer looking at the sea. Ha.. ha.. ha! That was totally not me.
Perhaps, we were the only unfortunate persons to experience this housekeeping issue at Langkasuka, so please don't let my experience hold you from staying at the resort. Langkasuka Beach Resort has a really nice beach -- the only resort in Langkawi with a beautiful private beach where you can see the sunset!
