We looked for a motel in Pantai Cenang area (a lot of motels to choose from!) so that we can easily go to the Cenang beach. After driving forth-and-back along Pantai Cenang road, we decided to check into AB Motel Langkawi.

Why? Simply because we noticed the big signboard of AB Motel on both side of the road! The other motels are located on either side of the Cenang road, but AB Motel are located on both side. Ha..ha..ha! So, it must be good.

Well, infact... AB Motel Langkawi has 52 chalet-type air-conditioned rooms and located just a few steps from the Cenang beach. Awesome, huh?

Langkawi Cheap Motel For Budget Traveller

For RM60, we got a decent room with twin beds, fan, aircond (though not really functioned), television and a simple toilet with cold shower. Towels and a small soap was provided.

For such a budget motel, we shouldn't expect too much great facilities. The toilet bowl was stained and the aircond was not functioning, but it was still acceptable.

But, I hated the mosquitos in the toilet and the room! I thought, I had killed them all with my bare hands but the mosquitos kept coming in.

And, the motel didn't provide any electric mosquito killer, which I thought they should. Alas! We also forgot to bring along our insect-repellent lotion.

All the mosquitos that I killed were Aedes mosquitos that can cause Dengue fever. And, Dengue fever can cause death!

I slept through the night wrapped in blanket and covered in a long sleeve jacket with hood. And sweated til' morning!

I woke up in the morning of the second day at 6.30am. Mosquito bites were all over my hands and legs -- which were exposed during my restless night.

After breakfast, we packed our stuff and checked-out of the mosquito motel. Sorry AB Motel! Mosquitos were the only thing that we're complaining about this motel.

Other facilities were good and they also provide great services such as motorbike rental, internet, IDD & STD calls, island hopping, trip to Thailand and even sell AirAsia flight tickets!
