1) Rambling Of The Roses

Hi! How're you, Langkawi lovers? How's you visit to Langkawi?

Oh.. haven't yet visited Langkawi, the mystical island of the Andaman sea ... well, what's holding you back?

Langkawi is a magnificent cluster of island, with warm & sunny weather all-year-round, fabulous folktales, friendly people, lip-smacking cuisine and of course... the finest white powdery sand in the world.

It's another new year - full of exciting new events on the island. The day is rather hot but we're blessed with a couple hours of warm and spine-tingling shower in the afternoon, as always.

On 26th December 2004, South Asia was hit by the fatal tsunami which resulted in more than 250,000 casualties. Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia itself lost about 60 souls on that day. The loss was so little if compared to Banda Acheh & Sri Langka but those whom survived are still traumatised by the disaster.

A year has gone and to those who survived & lost their loved ones - the bitter memories will still haunt 'em for the rest of their life. Let's pause for a while and pray for all souls that lost that day.... may they rest in peace... amin.

By the way, this is the first issue of Langkawi Buzz! and I really like to send it out so that you can get a hint of what this ezine is all about.

#1 - Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace (LIMA)

The eighth edition of LIMA Exhibition was successfully held in Langkawi from 6-11 December 2005. This prestigious international event is held every 2 years, and a really wow! must see for every one. There were 500 exhibitors from around 30 countries that showcased the latest state-of-the-art equipment and technology in the aerospace, air defence and civil aviation industries.

The aerospace segment took place at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Hall and the maritime segment in Porto Malai. The biggest attraction was the radar village, which covered a 15,000 sq metres area featuring radars used by the armed forces of various countries.

We have changed the rather typical SBI looking site into a new crisp & attractive design. Many visitors told us that they really like our new Web site look. What do you think?

Langkawi-Beaches.com went live on 26 June 2005, and as at 31.12.2005, it was ranked at 768,000 - within the top 5% of all sites on the Web by Alexa.
